Steel Sports inspires youth to reach their potential and achieve success in many areas: on the field, in the classroom, within their community, at home and in a career.

At Steel Sports, we know the impact kids can have on this world, and that’s why we put KIDS FIRST.

BUILD
YOUR
LEGACY

A LASTING LEGACY TOMMY LASORDA & STEEL SPORTS

Born in Norristown, Pennsylvania in 1927, Thomas Charles Lasorda was larger than life, all heart and defined by his “You Gotta Believe” mentality and determination. He spent over 70 years with the Dodgers organization, including 21 seasons as the club’s manager. He compiled 1,599 wins with a .526 win percentage, four National League pennants and two World Series titles in 1981 and 1988. After retirement in 1996, Tommy had his No. 2 retired by the Dodgers and was inducted to the National Baseball Hall of Fame in 1997, and in 2000, he led Team USA to an improbable gold medal win over heavily favored Cuba.

Tommy was the key figure in creating Steel Sports to help kids thrive, build character, teach life lessons and inspire self-confidence. Tommy was also the inspiration behind the development of the Steel Sports Coaching System – The Lasorda Way. He believed that providing kids a positive and fun environment is essential to keeping them in sports so they can gain the character traits and life lessons that will make them successful in all walks of life.
